Texas DPS Testing
Ayala Driving School is now certified to give DPS Testing!
San Antonio’s third-party DPS road testing is done here at Ayala Driving School!
Long gone are waiting in long lines at the DMV! After a long and awaiting process, Ayala Driving School is now authorized so that you can now get your DPS Drivers License Test here!
Here’s how it works:
Valid Texas Learner’s Permit
You are required to have your permit that has your photo and restrictions on it. This is the only valid proof that is required.
Permit for 6+ Months
You cannot test the same day of your License Operator Front Seat (LOFS). Your LOFS date, found on the back of your permit, will need to be dated before your test date and the permit will need to be held through midnight of the date of the test.
Completed 32 Hour Classroom Course
It is required that you completed 32 hours of driving theory in order to get your license.
Completed 7 Hour Driving and Observation
It is required to complete 7 hours of driving and 7 hours observing peers in order to get your license. Please make sure you have done this.
A Parent/Legal Guardian Is Required To Be Here
You read that correctly. Even if you are 18 years or older you are required to have completed the minors drivers education course and a parent/legal guardian is required.
VOE & 30 Hour Log
Planning on going to the DPS right after your test? Please make sure you have Verification of Enrollment (VOE) form or High School Diploma (If under 18 years of age). *VOE is necessary only if student used report card to obtain permit.
Completion of IMPACT Course
The IMPACT certificate must be within 90 days of your test date and the date on it must be dated after completion of the course itself. Please visit IMPACT’S Website to get your IMPACT certificate.
Completion of DE-964
The original certificate is required if you took the theory and behind the wheel with the same provider.
Two original certificates are required if you took the theory at one provider and behind the wheel at a different provider.
Log 30 Additional Driving Hours
There is a space on the DE-964 certificate, where the individual who observed can sign your 30-hour practice driving.
